Washington Nationals vs New York Mets - Free Pick (By David Hess)
The Washington Nationals have been a mess in the early part of the season. especially on offense as they enter this game ranked 29th in the league in scoring at 3.10 rpg. It really shows how much they miss Anthony Rendon, who is now playing for the Angels. Steven Matz has struggled this year but he does have a 3.46 ERA in his career at home and a 3.91 ERA against the Nats in his career. That is despite posting a 1-6 record against them. Matz has allowed three ERs or less in eight of his last 10 starts against Washington. Patrick Corbin will get the nod for the Nats in this one and he has struggled in this park in his career while posting a 4.30 ERA on the road overall in his career but the Mets are not a great offensive team and they normally do struggle to score at home. New York has hit just 1.96 against southpaws at home and they have averaged just 3.38 rpg in their home games overall this year. The Under is 6-1 in Washington's last 7 games as a favorite and 17-7-2 in New York last 26 games vs. a left-handed starter. Take the Under in this one.
