New York Mets vs Washington Nationals - 8/5/20 - Free Pick (By David Hess)
This is is a crucial battle between a couple of teams that reside in the National League East. The Mets have not been great in the early going and they lost yesterday by a score of 5-3. Max Scherzer is on the mound for the Nationals and he has been solid in the early going plus he has a 2.63 ERA in his career against the Mets but I see the New York offense tagging him for a few in this one. They should also be able to score against a less than stellar Washington pen. New York is not a great offensive team but they do seem to hit better away from home. The Nats have struggled to score this year but they are 3rd in the league in hitting and will be facing Rick Porcello, who had a 5.52 ERA last year and has started this year with a 13.50 ERA through two games. I love playing Overs when Porcello is on the mound and his two games this year have put up 14 and 21 runs. The Over is 7-2-1 the last 10 games in this series and that seals the deal for me.
